Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 11, 2026 Last Updated: May 11, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LiveSaintly mobile app and related services ("the App"), operated by Marc Bonner ("we," "us," "our").
By creating an account, downloading, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Description of Service
LiveSaintly is a mobile app for Catholic prayer, devotion, and community. Features include daily prayer checklists, mass readings, saint biographies, examination of conscience, liturgical calendar information, friends, direct messaging, group prayer chains, and shared novenas.
The App is independent and not officially affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican, or any diocese. Doctrinal content reflects traditional Catholic teaching but is provided for personal devotional use, not as authoritative theological instruction. For matters of doctrine, consult your parish priest or trusted Church authority.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms and agreed to be responsible for your conduct in the App.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
3. Your Account
- You may register only one account per person
- You must provide accurate registration information
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- You may delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete)
- We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms
4. User Content
"User Content" means anything you post, send, or upload to the App — including direct messages, group posts, prayer requests, profile bio, profile photo, friend interactions.
4.1 Your Ownership
You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and transmit your User Content as needed to operate the App. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must retain a copy for legal compliance.
4.2 Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that: - You have the right to post it - It does not infringe on anyone's rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, etc.) - It complies with these Terms
4.3 Reporting
To report content that violates these Terms, use the in-app Report button or email us (see §15).
5. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Post content that is heretical (in the sense of being publicly opposed to defined Catholic teaching), schismatic, anti-Catholic, blasphemous, pornographic, hateful, harassing, threatening, or sexually explicit
- Impersonate clergy, religious, or any other person
- Solicit funds, sell products, or use the App for commercial promotion (without our written permission)
- Use the App to spread misinformation or conspiracy theories
- Scrape, mirror, or systematically extract content from the App
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or probe the App's infrastructure
- Abuse other users via direct messages, group chat, friend requests, or any communication feature
- Share login credentials or operate multiple accounts to evade bans
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban. We reserve the right to investigate and take action without prior notice.
6. Spiritual and Doctrinal Content
The App provides traditional Catholic prayer, scripture readings (Douay-Rheims / 1962 Missal / USCCB), saint biographies, and liturgical calendar information. We strive for accuracy but:
- The App is not a substitute for the Sacraments or the guidance of a priest
- Content is provided "as-is" for personal devotional use
- Pastoral and doctrinal questions should be directed to your parish priest, spiritual director, or local diocese
- Liturgical readings are sourced from USCCB.org and missalemeum.com; their accuracy depends on those providers
- Indulgence-related content reflects the Enchiridion Indulgentiarum but does not replace required Church conditions (state of grace, confession, communion, prayer for the Pope's intentions, etc.)
7. Intellectual Property
The App, its design, code, and our original content (UI, layouts, original devotional commentary, saint biographies written by us) are owned by Marc Bonner and protected by copyright and trademark law.
Liturgical texts (prayers, scripture, Mass propers) are in the public domain or used under license from their respective sources (USCCB, missalemeum.com). Saint biographies are written by us or sourced from public-domain hagiographies.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works of the App without permission.
The "LiveSaintly" name and logo are our trademarks.
8. Privacy
Our use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
9. Push Notifications and Email
By creating an account, you consent to receive: - Transactional emails (verification codes, password resets, account notices) - Push notifications you've opted into (verse-of-the-day, prayer reminders, friend requests, DM previews)
You may opt out of marketing emails and push notifications at any time via Settings → Notifications. Transactional emails (security, account management) will continue.
10. Disclaimers

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM (or, for free users, $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations — they apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or damage (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: - Your use of the App - Your User Content - Your violation of these Terms - Your violation of any third-party right
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion for violations of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ends immediately. Sections that by their nature survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, governing law) survive.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll:
- Update the "Last Updated" date
- Notify you via in-app banner if the change is material
- Post a changelog at besaintlyapp.com/terms/changelog
Continued use of the App after a material change indicates acceptance. If you don't agree to the new Terms, stop using the App and delete your account.

18. AI-Assisted Content
Some written content in LiveSaintly — including saint biographies, reflections, and study material — was drafted or edited with the assistance of AI tools, working from public-domain and Church-approved sources (such as the Douay-Rheims Bible, the Baltimore Catechism, and Butler's Lives of the Saints). All such content is reviewed for fidelity to Catholic teaching. LiveSaintly does not present AI-generated text as the words of any living person, and does not use AI to make decisions about your account.
